Desiré Davids

                                                 Dancer/Choreographer/Teacher

By delving freely into the Classical, Contemporary and African vocabularies, she manipulates and dissects them to create her own personal style of subtle strength.

When choosing the hat of choreographer, her works are based mostly but not exclusively on

the interrogation of the self, the confrontation of stereotypes and the pushing of boundaries.

For each project her sources are diverse. From social to political to the act of just being.

Her general approach to movement is linked to sensations whether real or imaginary, movement as an extension of the inner self.

The relation between Images and Memory...how we remember ,what we remember, what the body remembers even when the mind forgets.
